颱風來了! 停班停課英文怎麼說? 颱風英文單字大整理~

一到七、八月，

就會有許多颱風侵襲台灣，

雖然很多人都喜歡放颱風假{typhoon day (off)}，

但是颱風常常造成許多災害，

帶來的強風與豪雨會造成農作物的損傷，

也會造成淹水、土石流等許多災害，

所以還是希望颱風不要來啦~~
 

但是如果颱風真的來了，

大家還是要做好防颱準備喔！

以下就來教你颱風的相關英文吧！

1. typhoon 颱風

   例：Taiwan often hit by typhoons every summer which usually causes damage.

→be hit by typhoons 遭受颱風侵襲

   台灣每年夏天都會遭受颱風侵襲也經常造成災害。

2. mudslide 土石流

  例： The mudslide was set off by the extremely heavy rain.

→ set off  引發

   豪雨引發土石流。

3. landslide山崩

  例： Many people were dug out after being buried by the landslide .

   在山崩之後，許多被掩埋的人被挖出來。

4. extremely heavy rain 豪雨

  例：The extremely heavy rain spoiled the crop.

      豪雨損壞了農作物。

5. rainfall 降雨量

  例： England is blessed with plentiful rainfall and a mild climate .

  英格蘭雨量充足，氣候溫和。

6. strong wind 強風

   例：The strong wind blew down a number of trees and pressed into the car.

→blow down 吹倒

   強風吹倒了幾棵樹並且壓壞了車。

7. inundation 淹水

   例：The inundation covered the whole area .

   整個地區都被水淹沒了。

8. day off 停班停課
  例：Taipei citizens got a day off due to the typhoon.
 由於颱風來襲，台北市民放颱風假。

9. precautions against typhoon 防颱措施

  例：It is important to do precautions against typhoon before it comes.

   颱風侵襲之前做好防颱措施是很重要的。
